Cap and Gown Pickup
- Pick up your cap and gown in room X150 on Monday, May 12th or Tuesday, May 13th between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. You must bring your cap and gown receipt and a picture ID. If you are unavailable during these times, please call the Office of Student Life at (217) 351-2492 to make special arrangements
- An instruction sheet outlining the Commencement exercise procedures will be enclosed with your cap and gown. There is no rehearsal prior to the ceremony so please read your instruction sheet very carefully before Commencement on Friday, May 16th.
- In order to give all students an equal opportunity to have friends and family in attendance, we anticipate that each graduate will receive no fewer than 3 and no more than 4 tickets. Tickets will be distributed at cap and gown pickup. The actual number of tickets distributed per student is determined each April and based on the number of participating graduates to be seated at Krannert’s Great Hall.
Other ways to get extra tickets:
1) Network with friends for extra tickets
2) Advertise in the Prospectus classifieds for $4.00, prepaid in room X155. Check with the editor for deadlines.
3) The night of graduation, at 7:55 p.m. if seats are available, Krannert will allow seating without a ticket.
No one other than the graduate may pick up the tickets without prior request by calling (217) 351-2492. The individual must bring in the graduate’s written permission and the graduate’s current Parkland ID card and cap and gown receipt.
