RESERVING A VAN
-
Vans are reserved on a first come, first serve basis; however, a reassignment
may occur by the Director of Student Life in an emergency.
- 8-11 passanger vans
will be restricted to a 300 mile radius use. Some vehicles due
to age and mechanical condition, are restricted to with a fifty

On occasion,
due to unforeseen

has been approved . The trip advisor will need to have an alternate
mode of transportation in case this occurs. Student Life will not
assume any
financial responsibility
if a rental is needed.
- The advisor must be present
during any vehicle(s) use, but if not possible, the advisor must
appoint a
staff/faculty person
as a replacement
adivsor. In other words, students may not reserve or drive
a van without an advisor or acting advisor present.
- The advisor must
write the organization & account number to be
charged on the form. The information must be filled in prior
to leaving.
- For student safety, Field Trip
Forms (in X161) must be filled out and returned to X161 prior to leaving
on a trip.
- No vans will be reserved to
carry hazardous wastes such as chemicals, radioactive materials, explosive
compounds,
carcinogens, reproductive
toxins, or gasoline.
The Cargo van is utilized for hauling other non-hazardous
materials.
- The
driver(s) must provide a valid driver's license number and birth date
prior to taking the vehicle(s) (Groups
may wish to
provide a list
of student
drivers at the beginning of each semester in order
to obtain approval to drive the vans). It is recommended
that the
advisor be the primary
operator of the vehicle. All drivers must be approved
