Meet Faces of Parkland

Rommeal Lear

Rommeal Lear
Hometown: Bellwood
Major: Communication: Broadcasting Technology
Interests: New things!

Bellwood native Rommeal Lear hopes his time spent in Parkland College’s Communication: Broadcast Technology program will give him the edge he needs for a future in public relations. For now, however, he knows that attending the college has already provided him with certain benefits.

“I appreciate the opportunity Parkland has given me—opening me up to new things and to different people with great proposals,” he says. For example, Rommeal has been able to give back to the community as a member of Great Minds, a student think-tank on campus whose members time out of their academic schedules to speak heart-to-heart with at-risk middle and high school students on the benefits of staying in school and going to college.

He advises prospective students to “be great, ask questions, and manage your time. Don’t be afraid to ask questions on scholarships, programs, and business opportunities. I love Parkland, and the faculty is so helpful.”
