Rosa Maria Juarez
Major: Mass Communication
Interests: New things!
There’s one thing Rosy Juarez advises new Parkland College
students most to do: “Stay involved!”
“Becoming involved in various organizations at Parkland has
opened so many doors for me in my future career,” says the energetic Arcola
native who, after her December 2013 graduation, plans to work toward her
bachelor’s degree and a career in government as a public relations specialist.
It’s no surprise that her favorite campus moment was her successful bid for
Student Government president in 2012-13. In addition, Rosy actively
participates in the Pre-Law Club, the Parkland Academy Team, Club Latino, the
Phi Theta Kappa international honor society, and the Parkland Honors Program.
“Students who become involved in college have a higher
success rate,” says Rosy, who has earned a place on Parkland’s Dean’s List and
won at least three of the college’s scholarships. “Parkland offers a wide range
of opportunities, and every faculty, staff, and administrative member is
dedicated to helping students succeed.”
