Meet Faces of Parkland

Muhammad Arif Shad

Muhammad Arif Shad
Hometown: Pakistan
Major: Video Production
Interests: Photography and swimming

Studying at Parkland is a great opportunity for Muhammad Arif Shad because he has a chance to experience the American educational system, which he said is better than the educational system in his country. It is teaching him how to do self-study, and allows students to study theoretically and practically, he said.
“It’s great that Parkland has expert instructors, a nice environment, and a great educational platform for any age of person,” Arif said.
Arif took video production as a major because he worked at a TV station in Pakistan. Studying at Parkland has improved his skills, especially because of the existence of PCTV, the campus TV station. He has received a lot of opportunities to practice what he learned in class.
His biggest dream is to be a film director and make his own movies. “I want to win an International Amy award!” he said. In his spare time, he likes taking pictures. Arif loves photography; sometimes, he invites his friends to his apartment to be his models.
When he finishes his studies at Parkland, he plans to go back to Pakistan and find a better job than the one he had before.
