Garionté Williams

Garionté Williams
Hometown: Champaign
Major: Social Work
Interests: Student Clubs

Talking to his professors outside the classroom about his life goals has meant a lot to Garionté Williams, a Champaign resident who plans to take his Social Work degree credits to the University of Illinois after his graduation.

“The teachers and deans here care, and I appreciate that,” he says, advising new students to “study hard…and always talk to your teacher.”

Besides spending time with his instructors, Garionté enjoys spending time with the members of Together We Achieve, an academy for first-year Parkland students that specifically focuses on academic success for African American males, as well as with students in such campus organizations as Brother 2 Brother and the Pre-Law Club.
