Kelley Englehardt

Kelley Englehardt
Title: Dance Coach

BS, Psychology, Eastern Illinois University

A quote by New York City Ballet co-founder George Balanchine rings true to Kelley Englehardt: “I don’t want people who want to dance, I want people who have to dance.” Perhaps her passion for this art is why Kelley, Parkland dance coach since 2005, led the Cobra Charmers to a No. 8 ranking among open hip-hop competitors at the 2007 College Dance Nationals, their first trip ever to the event. Appreciating the “smaller feel, but the quality of a larger school” that Parkland offers, Kelley stays inspired by new groups of dancers she comes to know each semester.

The outgoing Tuscola native enjoys spending time with family and friends, arts and crafts, listening to anything by Coldplay, and making herself “pretty handy around the house.” If Kelley weren’t coaching, she’d probably operate a dance studio. If you’re into pizza, she recommends Jupiter’s, a favorite place in town. She also highly recommends Door County, Wisconsin, for a relaxing vacation.
