Taking what she knows about healthcare and educational opportunities in Parkland Health Professions to the local community is what Rita Myles enjoys most about her role. The YWCAs Trailblazer award winner is no stranger to the hard work of college recruitment, and she is inspired by her service-oriented field, by Parklands student diversity, and by the many, many stories of achievement she hears from students each day.
Rita loves to dance and enjoys reading and travel, especially to Grand Bahama Island, a favorite vacation spot. You might also find her meditating at the Labyrinth path at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana, which gives her peace and tranquility, or listening to old school R&B or jazz. She shares with us the best advice shes heard: think before you speak. Freedom of speech comes with responsibility. Wisdom, indeed.
