Brock Bush
Hometown: Shelbyville
Major: Computer Networking
Interests: computers, video games, school studies
Brock Bush’s life thus far exemplifies the statement, “You can do whatever you want to, and your limit is the sky!” Despite a physical disability, the sophomore focused early on achieving his dream career—to be a networking administrator for a major company—through hard work and high achievement. After earning several academic letters in high school, he began taking Parkland College Computer Networking classes in 2008. Today, he plans to transfer to the University of Illinois Springfield and begin an internship in his field.
Brock appreciates the accessibility at the Parkland campus as well as the strong relationships he has built with professors. What he enjoys most about his major is being able to maintain and improve what people can do together using their computers.
Brock’s relaxed manner, shining eyes, friendly smile, and positive attitude are an inspiration for many around campus. He draws his inspiration to do well in school and to believe in a bright future for himself from his family. Brock loves playing video games and watching Resident Evil movies. He says he will miss Parkland but is enjoying his last semester here.
