Meet Faces of Parkland

Samreen Anwar

Samreen Anwar
Hometown: Pakistan
Major: Media
Interests: Music and swimming

Samreen took Media as a major because she wants to be a journalist.
“I had never dreamed big; I’ve always set small goals and achieved them,” the Pakistan native said. This practice has encouraged her to keep moving forward. She ultimately wants “give back” by doing something for the society she was born and raised in.
Samreen enjoys studying at Parkland, and she feels comfortable with its educational system. “Adults are treated as adults. It has more easygoing system and plenty of choices. “ she said.
Samreen said she has gained immense knowledge by studying at Parkland; in particular, the combination of lectures and hand-on experiences have taught her a lot. She feels more confident and motivated.
She also has had great experiences at Parkland, including the chance to do some presentation about Pakistan to different classes; inclusion to the Dean’s list in fall 2012; and membership into the Phi ThetaKappa international honor society.

When she finishes with her Parkland studies, she plans to go back to Pakistan and work there.
