Extroverted and easygoing, Parkland College international student Dedi Irwan used to work in communications in his native Indonesia. He says he has been “extremely impressed by the friendly atmosphere at Parkland, where every staff member is so professional and well-behaved.” With aspirations to become a businessman and a presenter/anchor in the media industry, Dedi plans to further education after Parkland through transfer to Michigan State University. He says he will apply his Parkland training to his profession.
Dedi loves to mingle and attend social events in Champaign-Urbana. Besides hanging out with friends along Green Street near the University of Illinois and playing soccer, he enjoys being involved in international organizations. Dedi draws inspiration from the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and from his parents, for whom earning his bachelor's degree was his finest achievement thus far.
