Parkland College is holding free workshops this spring for residents who plan to enroll at the college, to help them prepare for the required reading, writing, and math course placement tests.
The Accuplacer tests are untimed, computerized tests that help the college place students into courses that are right for them. The free, two-hour Accuplacer Test Prep Workshop is offered most Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in the college's Center for Academic Success
, room D120. On the fourth Monday of the month, the workshop is offered from 4 to 6 p.m.
Upcoming dates and times that may be of particular interest to area high school students
, due to the delayed start time or because the workshop is on a day when many schools are closed, include:
Monday, February 29, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Monday, March 21, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Monday, March 28, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Participants will discuss the test, find out why it is important, and learn strategies for maximizing their scores.
Reserve a spot at one of the free workshops by contacting the Center for Academic Success at 217/353-2005 or 217/351-2441.
