Parkland College is holding free workshops this fall for residents who plan to enroll at the college, to help them prepare for the required reading, writing, and math course placement tests.
Accuplacer tests are untimed, computerized tests that help incoming Parkland students place into courses that are right for them. Students may attend a free, two-hour Test Preparation Workshop most Mondays and Wednesdays through Dec. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the college's Center for Academic Success
, room D120. (The Monday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 28 workshops will meet from 4 to 6 p.m.)
Current high school students in particular may be interested in the following dates and times, as some area high schools are closed on these dates:
- Monday, Oct. 10, 3–5 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 23, 3–5 p.m.
Participants will discuss the test, find out why it is important, and learn strategies for maximizing their scores.
Reserve a spot at one of the free workshops by contacting the Center for Academic Success at 217/353-2005 or 217/351-2441.
