Parkland College Institute of Aviation at the University of Illinois will join thousands of other flight enthusiasts next week in Wisconsin at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
The annual weeklong airshow, the largest in the country, is held each summer at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association. This year's gathering is scheduled for July 28 to Aug. 3.
Enthusiasts are invited to visit Parkland College's booth in area C5 within "College Park" to learn more about the flight school and its degree/certificate offerings. Program administrators and flight instructors will be on hand to answer questions and disseminate information.
The Parkland College Institute of Aviation at the University of Illinois opens this fall to continue the outstanding flight instruction program of the University of Illinois Institute of Aviation, which closes at the end of the summer. Parkland's program will allow students to earn a two-year associate's degree in aviation or take courses to earn FAA-approved private pilot certification and commercial flight ratings. Under a three-year agreement, Parkland is leasing the university's aircraft and facilities at Willard Airport in Savoy. Applications are now being accepted.
