New Fitness Center Hours for 2016-2017

Get in shape! Expanded schedule starts Aug. 22

The Parkland College Fitness Center, located in the lower level of the Dodds Athletic Center (or P building), will provide expanded hours for the upcoming school year.
 
Gain access to state-of-the-art fitness equipment in this modern facility, including:Fitness Center
  • Cardio: treadmills, ellipticals, upright and recumbent cycles, stepmills, Waves, Versaclimer, and rowing machine; most include iPod docking stations, built-in cable TV, and touch screens
  • Strength training: Keiser® power rack, in-lay Olympic platform, bumper plates, sandbells, Powerblocks, and turf area as well as dumbbells, kettlebells, ropes, med balls, and push-pull systems
  • Upper-level walking track (open and free of charge anytime the center is open)
The following schedule starts Monday, Aug. 22 (modified hours will occur during Parkland holiday breaks, between semesters, and during summer sessions):

Monday–Thursday, 7 am to 9 pm
Friday, 7 am to 5 pm
Saturday, 9 am to 2 pm
Sunday, 1 pm to 5 pm

To use the Parkland College Fitness Center: Students, faculty, and staff need to be signed up for either a kinesiology class (KIN 103, 147, 203, or 247), a Personal Fitness Training course (you are assigned a personal trainer in KIN 101-201), or WCE 800 (a noncredit use option). Before lifting, new enrollees are required to complete an orientation. A photo ID is required to sign in to show proof of enrollment and to get credit for the KIN courses.
