Art Students Win Awards in Statewide Juried Exhibit

Works by two student artists awarded in 2016 Illinois Community College Juried Exhibition

Two Parkland College Art and Design students selected for the 2016 Illinois Community College Juried Exhibition recently received awards for their art works.
William Smith of Champaign received the Curator's Choice Award and purchase, while Caitlin Sims of Urbana won the Governors State Gallery Award. The student winners were announced March 5 during an exhibit closing ceremony in the Visual Arts Gallery at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois.Grace by Caitlin Sims
This annual juried exhibition celebrates the creative work of young artists. Works selected for this year's exhibit were completed between August 2013 and late January 2016. More than $1,500 in awards were presented at the reception.
Juror for the exhibition was Joshua Herrington, marketing manager for EXPO Chicago and director/founder of Gallerista Chicago.
