Earth Day Event Planned at Parkland College

Public invited to learn about sustainability challenges, opportunities

Parkland College's environmental student club, Parkland Students for Sustainability, is coordinating an event leading up to Earth Day in collaboration with Parkland's Sustainable Campus Committee and the Parkland Science Club.
 
Through the following free event, District 505 community residents are invited to join Parkland students, faculty and staff to learn about both sustainability challenges and opportunities for a bright green future. 
 
Green Jobs Panel
Wednesday, April 19, 9–11am
Student Union


Hear about sustainable job opportunities in the government, nonprofit, and private sectors. Staff from the City of Urbana, Champaign County Forest Preserve District, C-U MTD, and Straight Up Solar will discuss how their jobs help protect and preserve our environment, and how their educational background prepared them for success in their field.
