Giertz Gallery’s wine tasting and art benefit at Art Mart promises to be an enjoyable evening of wine, food, and art.
The first-ever wine tasting fundraiser for the Giertz Gallery will be held Wednesday, April 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Art Mart, 1705 S. Prospect Ave, Champaign.
The fundraiser’s event ticket allows guests to sample many wines and gourmet goodies. One ticket will win a beautiful spring floral arrangement designed by Patricia Locke, Parkland College Floral Design instructor.
A silent auction of ceramic pieces to benefit the Giertz Gallery (also available online) will round out the event’s festivities. Guests may place bids on artworks donated by Art and Design program faculty and students, including ceramic vases, bowls and teapots. A fine art print by retired faculty artist Don Lake also will be available for sale during the auction, the proceeds of which will support the Don Lake Scholarship.
Online bids will end at 6 p.m. and in-house bids will end at 6:30 p.m. Jewelry and silk scarves will also be for sale. Many of the silent auction pieces may be viewed or bid on before the event, on the Giertz Gallery Facebook page.
Tickets are $30 each, with advanced purchase recommended but not necessary. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Giertz Gallery; a percentage on the sale of 6 or more wine bottles purchased at the event will also benefit the gallery.
To purchase tickets, please visit the gallery website, call 217/351-2485, email email@example.com, or stop by the Giertz Gallery or Art Mart (cash or checks only at event venue, please). Tickets will also be available at the door.
