Parkland College Theatre will close its 2016-2017 show season April 6–23 with the classic musical comedy Anything Goes, featuring the music and lyrics of Cole Porter.Anything Goes
 
Based on the original book by P.G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton that was revised by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse and in the 1980s by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman, Anything Goes debuted on Broadway in 1934. The story involves an evangelist-turned-nightclub singer, a lovelorn stockbroker wooing a lovely debutante, the debutante's British lord fiancé, and a gangster disguised as a minister, who all turn up on a luxury cruise liner to sing, dance, and romance.
 
Terrific Cole Porter songs include It's De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get a Kick Out of You, All Through the Night, Anything Goes, You're the Top, and Blow, Gabriel, Blow.
 

Directed by Julia Megan Sullivan, the Parkland production features a strong community cast, including Malia Andrus, Abby Gailey, Ray Essick, Jake Smith, Jenny Gleason, Jeff Dare, Tafadzwa Diener, David Heckman, Dennis Sims, Liz Martin, John Tilford, Joel Shoemaker, Craig Smith, Brad “Gil” Yohnka, Nick Henson, Whitney Havice, Erin Kaufman, Ruth Zielke, Pete Barrett, Quinton Ohlsson, Megan Cott, Alina Loewenstein, Sarah Rosenberg, Ethan Smith, Lauren Weisbaum, Susan Zielke, Samantha Odendaal, Amber Sarno, and Tyler Cook.
 
Performances of Anything Goes take place in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre April 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22 at 7:30 p.m. and April 23 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for students and seniors 65+, 10 for youth 12 and under and $12 for organized groups of 15 or more. Opening night, April 6, is half-price night.
