Parkland College will honor the many students and staff who have served their country in the United States military. The 2009 Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 10:55 a.m. in the Flag Lounge (campus central area). The public is invited to attend.
The brief ceremony includes posting of colors by the American Legion Post 24 Color Guard; a welcome by Student Veterans Association at Parkland (SVAP) President Robin Malsberry; presentation of current veterans on campus; poetry and multimedia tributes; and a moment of silence with the playing of Taps.
The 2009 Veterans Day observance is sponsored by the Student Veterans Association at Parkland (SVAP).
