Artist Lecture: Benjie Heu

Thu, Feb 13, 2014 starting at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Talk part of current exhibit, "Outlandish Adventures: Works by Benjie Heu"

Artist Benjie Heu, professor of ceramics at Southeast Missouri State University, is the featured artist in Parkland Art Gallery's solo exhibition, Outlandish Adventures: Works by Benjie Heu. Heu will provide a talk Thursday, February 13 at 11 a.m. in Parkland's S building.
Heu has an MFA from Ohio University and a BFA from the University of Montevallo. Two themes that inspire his artwork are battles against time and battles against obstacles that keep one from fulfilling desire or repossessing lost but cherished things. His response to this inspiration is to reveal truth and humor in the face of horror and the seemingly absurd.
Outlandish Adventures: Works by Benjie Heu runs February 10 to April 1.
