Come and enjoy choral and orchestral music by Vivaldi, Handel, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and a variety of other noted composers during a free Parkland College ensemble fall concert on Sunday, October 14.
The Parkland Chorus, Parkland Chamber Singers, and Parkland Orchestra will perform in the joint concert at 3 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign.
The choirs, conducted by Barbara Zachow, will perform "I Could Have Danced All Night" from the Lerner and Loewe musical "My Fair Lady;" "Hallelujah, Amen" from George Frideric Handel's "Judas Maccabaeus;" and selections from Antonio Vivaldi, Samuel Sebastian Wesley, Morten Lauridsen, Frank Kander, Eric Whitacre, Marta Keen, and Randy Stonehill.
Jack Ranney conducts the Parkland Orchestra, which will perform "The Sound of Music" by Richard and Oscar Hammerstein; Prelude to "Die Meistersinger" by Richard Wagner; and several other selections. As the concert ends, the three ensembles will combine to perform "The Impossible Dream - The Quest" by Mitch Leigh.
