Coffee and Tea, Cups and Dessert: A Giertz Gallery Benefit
Thursday, December 3
4 to 7 p.m.
Parkland Art Gallery Lounge
Giertz Gallery’s "Coffee and Tea, Cups and Dessert" benefit promises to be another enjoyable evening of food, music, and art.
A biennial fundraiser for the gallery, the benefit will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the gallery’s lounge at Parkland College.
Each event ticket allows guests to select a cup from over 100 beautifully handcrafted ceramic cups, donated by Parkland College Ceramics program faculty and students. Fresh-baked desserts from Parkland’s Hospitality program, freshly brewed coffee and tea donated by Columbia Street Roastery, and traditional Irish music by Fair Play also feature at the benefit.
A silent auction rounds out the event’s festivities, with items that make perfect holiday gifts. Guests may place bids on artworks donated by Art and Design program faculty and students, including ceramic vases, bowls, teapots, and other items; jewelry; and a photograph donated by retiring instructor Craig McMonigal. Many of the silent auction pieces may be viewed ahead of time on the Giertz Gallery website
"Coffee and Tea, Cups and Dessert" tickets are $30 each or two for $50, with advanced purchase recommended; cups will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. To purchase tickets, please contact the Giertz Gallery office at 217/351-2485, email firstname.lastname@example.org
