2017 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration

Annual event to honor life of Dr. King, area humanitarians 

The Cities of Champaign and Urbana, the Champaign County Board, Parkland College, and the University of Illinois invite citizens to attend the 16th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Countywide Celebration. 
The celebration will be held Friday, January 13 at Parkland College's U Building, 2400 W. Bradley Avenue in Champaign, from 4 to 5 pm. This event is free and open to the public.  

Area humanitarians to be honored at the celebration include Lucia Maldonado, who will be receiving the James R. Burgess, Jr. - Susan Freiburg Humanitarian Award; Stone Creek Church, which will receive the Doris Hoskins Prestigious Community Service Award; and Dr. Ellis Drive 6, which will receive the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Outstanding Achievement Award.
