"Pride and Prejudice" at Parkland Theatre

Thu, Nov 14, 2013 starting at 7:30 PM - Sun, Nov 24, 2013 starting at 3:00 PM

Experience the wit and romance in this stage adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel!

All of the wit and romance of Jane Austen's classic 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice come to life in a refreshingly fast-paced, engaging new production opening Nov. 14 at the Parkland Theatre!

Finding a husband is hardly Elizabeth Bennett’s most urgent priority. But with four sisters, an overzealous, matchmaking mother, and a string of unsuitable suitors, it is difficult to escape the subject. When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, she is determined not to let her feelings triumph over her own good sense—but the truth turns out to be more slippery than it seems. In a society where subtle snubs and deceit proliferate, is it possible for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice, and to make the best match of all? Joi Hoffsommer directs this stage adaptation.

Pride and Prejudice performances will run Nov. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 7:30 p.m. and November 24 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for student and senior (55+), and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets for groups of 15 or more are $10 each. Parkland Theatre continues its guarantee of affordable theatre for everyone by offering “pay what you can night” on Thursday, Nov. 14, while tickets are half-price for the Nov. 21 performance.
