PTSD and the Effect of Trauma

Bestselling Author to Speak on PTSD at Campus 

New York Times bestselling author Capt. Luis Carlos Montalván comes to Parkland College to discuss Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and finding help through the effects of trauma.

A former U.S. Army captain and Iraq war veteran, Capt. Montalván is the award-winning author of Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him. The story recounts his return to the U.S. with severe PTSD and how he readjusted his life with help from a golden retriever named Tuesday.

His keynote talk will be part of a featured program, "Recovery through Understanding," which will take place Friday, Nov. 15 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Parkland Theatre. A book signing by Capt.
