Parkland to host 36th annual educational seminar for veterinary technicians 

Parkland College's Veterinary Technology program will host its 36th annual Fall Conference Saturday, Oct. 21 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. 
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with conference sessions beginning at 8 a.m. Topics covered will include OSHA Standards and Training (parts 1 and 2), Animal Enrichment (parts 1 and 2), How to Make Your Practice Cat Friendly, Getting to Yes with Lifestyle Vaccines, and CIRDC—Not Just the Flu. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This daylong conference provides seven continuing education credits toward continued licensure as a veterinary technician. As of January 2, 2008, 15 hours of CEU are required during each renewal period to maintain licensure. Veterinary assistants, receptionists, and other veterinary staff are encouraged to attend.
