Transitions Tour 2013: Support for the Older College-bound

Thu, Jul 11, 2013 starting at 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Returning to college? Take tours, apply to Parkland, get lots of help July 11

Navigating the application process at a campus full of eager high school grads can be just the image that makes an older adult cringe at the very thought of finishing his/her college degree! If this describes you, Parkland College has planned a day to ease the tension of college admission for not-so-young college wannabes.

The FREE event, Transitions Tour 2013, will take place on Thursday, July 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Parkland Library. Older college applicants can prepare early to take courses at the Parkland campus in the fall and take some of the mystery out of navigating college, with guided tours of the campus, Q&A by featured adult students/graduates who have already figured out the "college thing," and more.

Pick up lots of information on academic program and career choices; complete your Parkland College application; and get help with filing the FAFSA—that's the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Bring along your 2012 federal income tax information if you wish to file your FAFSA.

Transitions Tour 2013 is sponsored by the Parkland Adult Re-entry Center. Call 217/351-2462 to reserve your space.
