Band, Orchestra to Perform "Gaudete"

Free! Enjoy festive music in joint winter concert 

"Gaudete," a joint winter concert by the Parkland Orchestra and Parkland Concert Band, will be held Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre at Parkland College.

This concert is free and open to the public.

The Concert Band, directed by Larry Stoner, will perform A Rhapsody on Christmas Carols by Claude T. Smith; The Eighth Candle (Prayer and Dance for Hanukkah) by Steve Reisteter; Deck Thyself, My Soul, With Gladness by J. S. Bach/Alfred Reed; Gaudete by Brian Beck; and A Most Wonderful Christmas by Robert Sheldon.

Rodney Mueller directs the Orchestra, which will perform Three Movements from The Nutcracker by Pyotr I. Tschaikovsky; Three movements from L'Arlesienne Suite by Georges Bizet; music from the movie The Polar Express; and Traditional Slavic Christmas Music: for Brass and Strings by Leopold Stokowski.
