International Admissions: Pending
Permanent Residents
If you have applied for permanent residency but have not yet received a
green card, you should submit the following materials to International Student
Services. Feel free to call us at 217-351-2890 for
help.
- International
Student Application | Program of Study Codes
- An official TOEFL score
This is needed if you plan to take regular college classes (not ESL) at Parkland.
If you do not provide us with an official TOEFL score, you can be admitted
to Parkland’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Program.
- Official educational documents showing proof of high school
completion (any that apply to you):
• Foreign high school completion document, in English
• Foreign college or university transcript, in English
• U.S. high school completion document, sent directly to our office by the
U.S. school
• U.S. college or university transcript, sent directly to our office by
the U.S. school
Note: This is needed only if you will be degree-seeking. If you do not
wish to complete a degree or certificate program at Parkland, you do not need
to submit educational documents.
- A copy of your Receipt Notice from U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (formerly INS), showing that you are in the process
of applying for permanent residency, and a copy of your Employment Authorization
Document (EAD card).
- Proof of residency in District 505
A letter from an in-district employer (typed on company/school letterhead),
verifying employment for at least 35 hours per week, meets this requirement.
For more information about proving residency, contact 217-351-2890.
- Copies of your passport identification page, visa page,
and I-94 card (front and back)
Once Parkland’s International Student Services office receives all
appropriate documents, we will send you an acceptance letter.
