visa holder transferring to Parkland
F-1 students who wish to transfer to Parkland College should submit the
following documents to Parkland’s International Student Services office.

- $40 Application Fee (non refundable)
- Official educational documents showing proof of high school
completion (any that apply to you)
• Foreign high school completion document,
in English
• Foreign college or university transcript, in English
• U.S.
high school completion document, sent directly to our office by the U.S.
school
• U.S. college or university transcript, sent directly to our office
by the U.S. school
- A recent bank account statement showing at least $20,200
available for your education and living expenses. This is the estimated
amount needed for one year of study at Parkland College. More funds must
be shown if a spouse or child with F2 status will accompany you. See page
2 of the International Student Application for more information. If a sponsor
will be funding your education, submit his/her recent bank statement. Sponsors
need to sign page 2 of the International Student Application or submit
a signed letter of sponsorship.
- An official TOEFL score
This is needed if you plan to take regular academic college classes (not pre-college ESL) at Parkland. If you do not provide us with an official TOEFL score, you can be admitted to Parkland’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Program. The minimum TOEFL score needed to be eligible to take academic course work is 500 (paper-based)/173 (computer-based)/61 (internet-based). Scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application.
- Ask your current school to release your SEVIS I-20 to Parkland
College, and let us know your SEVIS release date.
- Copies of your passport identification page, visa page,
I-94 card (front and back), and I-20
Once Parkland’s International Student Services Office receives all
appropriate documents, we will send you an acceptance letter. Your new Parkland
I-20 will be issued after you have been released from your previous institution to Parkland, and have registered for full-time coursework.
