International Opportunities For Faculty/Staff
Through our membership in the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP) Parkland is able to offer exciting opportunities abroad for its faculty and staff. Two examples of these are:
- Short-term faculty/staff exchanges:
Two-week faculty/staff professional and cultural exchange opportunities are available in Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. American participants host their international guest for two weeks in October, and are received by their exchange partner in May. These programs are designed to be particularly low-cost and culturally stimulating because room and board is provided in their exchange partner's home.
- Visiting Faculty Program to Canterbury, England
Also available through our affiliation with ICISP, the Canterbury Christ Church College University (C-4) Visiting Faculty Program provides faculty from member institutions the opportunity to experience firsthand living, teaching, and interacting with colleagues in an international setting. In existence since fall 1989, 30 Parkland faculty have benefited to date from this longstanding and successful program.
