Illinois Employment Training Center (IETC)The IETC, located at 1307 N. Mattis Avenue in Champaign, provides job search assistance and sponsors vocational training for low-income youth, adults, and dislocated (laid-off) workers. Through this one-stop career agency, clients can access services of the IETC's local system partners, such as Parkland College, Urbana Adult Education, DSC, and Urban League. The center's service area covers Champaign, Ford, Iroquois and Piatt counties, and it is federally funded under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. Registered youth ages 15 to 21 years of age participate in year-round activities or programs sponsored by the IETC to help prepare them for the workforce, including leadership development, adult mentoring, paid or unpaid work experience, summer employment, and occupational skill training. Area adult residents and dislocated workers can access job search assistance through the IETC's Job Club. The IETC is accessible to anyone who wants to access job search-related Web sites on the Internet or to those who wish to review a variety of books, brochures, and publications.
