The Parkland Advantage
The medical assisting program offers courses in anatomy and physiology, CPR, medical terminology, computer use, transcription, and recordkeeping. Students who focus on front office assisting also gain skills in billing, coding, records management, insurance, patient scheduling, and related administrative tasks. Those students with a focus in back office assisting learn to take vital signs, administer medications and immunizations, perform phlebotomy, sterilize medical instruments, and conduct clinical testing.

Our program certifies you for part-time medical assisting and prepares you to take state and national medical office assistant examinations. Most of the courses are offered in the evening hours, which is convenient for working students and employees looking to upgrade their current positions.
