Certification and licensing
Upon completion of the coursework, you will be prepared you to take the certification exam administered by the National Certification Board for Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). After passing that examination, you will be eligible to apply for a state license as a Massage Therapist. Our program is accredited by both NCBTMB and the American Massage Therapy Association and our graduates are automatically eligible to join AMTA as professional members. 

Length of study

The massage therapy certificate program has been designed for both full- and part-time students. The program requires over 750 hours of in-class and laboratory study, as well as off-campus experience in a variety of settings. The certificate may be completed in two semesters plus one summer session.

 

Entry requirements
All health professions programs require a State Police background check prior to or at the start of the first course in a program. A positive finding related to a felony conviction may limit clinical placement and employment.


High school graduation or equivalent is required. Applicants must assess into MAT 095, and meet the minimum qualifying admissions score and physical performance standards. A strong background in the biological sciences is highly recommended.
