The Dietetic Technician
Helping people learn about nutrition to improve their health provides a rewarding challenge to the dietetic technician. As a dietetic technician, you will be responsible for conducting nutritional assessments, analyzing results, and offering follow-up instruction to people of all ages. You may work in interesting settings such as food companies, research facilities, the fitness industry, hospitals, schools, and nursing homes. The services you give may also vary. For example, you could be a dietary foodservice manager, meeting clients’ special dietary needs and providing wonderful meals. You could help a university researcher collect data and write publications, work in the fitness industry, or teach cooking classes.
