The Dental Hygienist

Strong interpersonal skills, good manual dexterity, and a genuine interest in people are necessary prerequisites for this rewarding career. As a dental hygienist, you will serve an important role as an oral health educator and as a provider of preventive and therapeutic treatment.

Some of your responsibilities as part of the dental health team include scaling and polishing teeth, taking X-rays, applying fluoride and surface sealants, and teaching patients how to care for their teeth.
