Art 145 - Ceramics I
Introduction to various materials and processes involved in ceramic art-making.
Topics and student projects include handbuilding, wheelthrowing, sculpture,
various slips, glazes, other surface treatments, and various kiln firing techniques.
Students will focus on bringing their own ideas to the projects.
Art 245 - Ceramics II
A continuation of skills and knowledge acquired in Ceramics I will be used
to further refine the student's artistic direction. Advanced involvement
in the operation and maintenance of ceramics studio. Includes glazemaking,
kiln loading, firing, and other research.
