Career Information

Job outlook
The National Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook consistently ranks job titles within industrial technology as plentiful, favorable, or excellent. Trained manufacturing and industrial technicians are in great demand nationwide as United States manufacturers increase the skill level of their technicians to get the edge on foreign competition. Along with high numbers of retiring technicians and a national shortage of skilled tradesmen, all trends indicate a bright future for graduates of Parkland’s Industrial Technology program.

Earning potential
Starting salaries range from $23,080 to $37,720 depending on geographic location. Skilled, experienced technicians can earn from $40,000 to $50,000 per year.
