Ford ASSET

What is the purpose of ASSET?
• To upgrade the technical competency and professional level of incoming Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, and Mazda dealership service technicians.
• To train Ford ASSET program students to diagnose, service, and maintain Ford automotive products using recommended procedures, special tools, and Ford service publications.
• To provide course content that will enable the successful graduate to advance in position after additional experience and to understand new systems and components as they are introduced.

How does it work?
The ASSET curriculum utilizes periods of classroom work alternating with periods of full-time work experience at a Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, or Mazda dealership.

What subjects are studied?
Technical training on Ford vehicles and components includes the latest developments in engine repair, automotive electrical and electronic engine control systems, brakes, suspensions and alignment, automatic and manual transmissions, fuel and emission control systems, and diesel engine performance.  In addition to the technical curriculum, courses will be required in areas such as mathematics and written/verbal communication skills, which are necessary for effective communication of ideas and to enhance future opportunities for career advancement.

Application to the Ford ASSET program is open to any student who is interested in a highly skilled professional technical career in the automotive dealership setting.
