Nurse Assistant

Program Code: GNAS CER

The Nurse Assistant course prepares students to care for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in a long-term care facility, a hospital, or in the home. The course/program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Illinois Nurse Assistants Certification exam.

Program Notes
• Assessment into CCS 098 is required for admission to the Nurse Assistant program.
• A two-step TB skin test is required before the first day of clinical.
• IDPR requires that all students seeking a CNA must pass a negative live scan background check before registering for a CNA class.
