A student will be placed on academic probation if, after attempting six or more credit hours, his/her cumulative grade point average is less than:

23-32 inclusive — 1.5

45-55 inclusive — 1.8

12-22 inclusive — 1.3

33-44 inclusive — 1.6

While on probation, a student may continue to enroll in the college; however, he or she:

  1. must have developed a plan for educational success in conjunction with an academic advisor or counselor,
  2. will have registration privileges discontinued until an academic plan of study is developed and approved by an academic/faculty advisor or counselor,
  3. may enroll in no more than 13 hours at the 100 level or above,
  4. must be enrolled prior to the first scheduled meeting of the class,
  5. may be required to take reading and study skills courses or tutoring in specific areas upon the advice of an academic advisor or counselor.

A student is removed from academic probation when his/her cumulative grade point average satisfies the requirements in this section for the number of credit hours attempted.
