is the Business Development Center (BDC)?
The Business Development
Center is an off campus extension of Parkland College designed
to serve as an education, development and training
resource for area businesses, organizations and individuals.
Do I need contractual training?
If you have a business with six
or more employees needing training in a single area, consider the
benefits of a personalized training
session.
Can I get training at my business?
The Business Development Center
can train your employees at your site or our fully equipped facility,
1315 N. Mattis Avenue, Champaign.
Who teaches the classes?
Community educators, Parkland College faculty,
and experienced consultants are recruited by the Business Development
Center to
provide you with
the most expert training.
Can the Business Development Center do other types of training
not currently offered?
Business training needs can be as different
as people. Customizing training for your specific business is our
specialty.
Can I earn continuing education credits at the Business Development
Center?
Licensed professionals who need continuing education credits
to maintain professional standing with state and other governmental
agencies will
find a variety of classes to satisfy the educational requirements.
Who can attend classes?
Anyone who wants to enhance their work performance,
increase productivity, or satisfy governmental and educational
requirements can and should
consider training at the Business Development Center.
How do I register for classes?
Registration for open enrollment
classes can be done easily on-line, through the mail, by fax, or
over the phone. Just find the class
you need, write down the class code and title, and then click the
Register
Now! link to the registration information page and follow the directions.
How will I know you received my on-line registration?
After you
register on-line, you will receive a confirmation letter and bill
for the class. To complete your registration, remit your
payment with the bill. If the class is closed, you will be notified
of your
options by mail, e-mail, or phone.
What if the class I need is full?
The Business Development Center
tries to accommodate as many students as possible, offering additional
sections to meet your needs. If
you want to enroll in a class that is full, we will place your
name on
a waiting list for other section options and possible withdrawals.
What if I am unable to attend a class after registering?
Any student
enrolled may cancel a class two business days (48 hours) prior
to the start of the class and receive a full refund.
How will I know if classes are cancelled due to weather?
Local television
and radio stations will announce when the college is closed, or
you can visit www.parkland.edu. All classes will
be held unless Parkland College is closed.
Will I need to purchase books for my class?
The Business Development
Center provides books/texts for most classes. Some classes require
an additional text purchase. If a book purchase
is required, you will be notified at the time of registration.
Where is the Business Development Center?
The Business Development
Center is located in northwest Champaign, near Parkland College
and the Illinois Employment Training Center
