Employment opportunities
Because Parkland's agriculture certificates and degrees were developed in conjunction with area agribusinesses, employment opportunities should be plentiful. As agriculture continues to evolve, the need for trained technicians will grow.

Earning potential
Salaries for agricultural positions can vary widely, depending on the field chosen and the type of employer. Price fluctuations and weather conditions that lower yield can affect farm income significantly. Ag workers in central Illinois entering the workforce with one of Parkland's degrees can reasonably expect to earn a starting salary of $22,000 to $30,000.

Career advancement
Advancement opportunities for trained agriculture technicians are plentiful. You may choose to continue your education through Parkland's Agriculture Training Institute, which offers courses and workshops in such areas as grain marketing, computer applications for farmers, and more.
