Head Coach Chuck Clutts enters his 12th year at Parkland College , where his teams have compiled a record of 488-168-2 for a .741 winning percentage. The Cobras have won 6 conference and 7 regional titles in the past 10 years. Coach Clutts' teams have finished Runner-up 3 times, 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th at NJCAA Nationals and have earned him seven Region 24 Coach of the Year, a District Coach of the Year and three M-WAC Coach of the year awards.
In 2007 Coach Clutts and the coaching staff were named the NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. Parkland Softball has had 10 NJCAA All-Americans in the last nine years.
Heather Tarter
Assistant Coach
Coach Tarter, a graduate of Prairie Central High School, is entering her fourth year coaching at Parkland College. She is a 2008 graduate from the University of Northern Iowa where she received her Bachelors Degree in Movement and Exercise Science.
Prior to attending UNI, she obtained her Associates Degree from Kankakee Community College. She played softball for both UNI and KCC and her primary position was catcher. Coach Tarter will be in charge of the catchers and outfielders. Her experience at both the Division I level and the NJCAA level will help Parkland Softball continue its success.
Kelsi Hoey
Assistant Coach
Kelsi joins the Parkland coaching staff as the pitching coach. Kelsi, a Tuscola graduate, has played the last two years for Parkland and was Pitcher of the Year in 2010 and 2011.
In 2011 Kelsi was the Parkland College MVP and was named to the 2nd team M-WAC All-Conference. At Tuscola High School Kelsi was a two-time All-Stater and was awarded the News-Gazette Player of the Year in 2008.
Kelsi graduated from Parkland with an Associates Degree in Science
