Mark Sikora

Head Coach

Coach Sikora will begin his third season as the Cobras Head Coach having compiled a record of (17-20-1) in his first two years. He has coached two NSCAA All-Americans (Patrick Mabeya 2006 and Eddie Sayon 2007).

With a good mix of returning players and talented freshman, this should be an exciting season for the Cobras. Sikora, who has his USSF “D” license, came to PC from Champaign Centennial High School where he had a record of 89-17-7 and led his Chargers teams to five Big 12 titles, three Regional titles, and two Sectional titles. Sikora also coached the girl’s team achieving a record of 100-14-7.

This year’s team is loaded with local players including six from Central-Centennial-Urbana and has a heavy Springfield influence with 9 players coming from Chatham-Glenwood, Rochester, Pleasant Plains, and Springfield High.

Sikora and his wife Nicole have two daughters, Isabel (5) and Chloe (4 months) and live in Urbana. Mark continues to teach at Centennial in addition to his coaching duties at PC.

Hsiung Marler

Asst. Soccer Coach

Hsiung Marler came over with Mark Sikora from Centennial HS. There he spent
four seasons under Sikora as an assistant coach; three on the boys' side,
one on the girls'. In 2005 Marler took over for Sikora as the Head Girls'
Coach at Centennial; a position he still holds.

Prior to Centennial Marler coached high school and club with Nazareth
Academy, the Oak Park Strikers, Oak Park Tricycles and Amadeus FC. Amadeus
FC won national tournaments in 1994 and 1995. In 2006 the Centennial Girls'
team was awarded the IHSSCA Myro Rys State Sportsmanship Award. In 2007
Marler was named the IHSSCA Region 20 Soccer Person of the Year.

Marler holds a USSF D License, NSCAA National Youth Diploma, NSCAA High
School Special Topics Diploma, ASEP Youth Coaching Certificate and ASEP
Coaching Principles Certificate.
