Eck Lands Sayon from Parkland

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Head Men's Soccer Coach Joe Eck added a key weapon to his arsenal with the signing of Eddie Sayon from Parkland Community College. Sayon plans to be on the Prairie Star roster for this upcoming season.
"Eddie is a tremendous signing for us," said Eck. "He is an explosive player that will have an immediate impact on the team. He has excellent offensive skills, the kind that will break down a defense, and he carries a great pace to his game. His skills lend him to play either in the midfield or as a striker."
The 5-9 midfield/striker was named First Team National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association/Adidas NJCAA Division I All-American and First Team NJCAA Region 24 All-Region last season and was named to the All-Region 24 Honorable Mention Team in 2006. Sayon played at Champaign Centennial High School where he was twice named to the Illinois All-State Team (2004 and 2005).
Sayon plans to pursue a degree in management.
