MEET THE COACH
Coach Nate Mast
Head Coach, Parkland Men's Basketball

Coach Mast enters his third season as the head coach for the Parkland College Cobras men's basketball team. A native of Champaign, Coach Mast attended Central High School and went on to play for the University of Illinois while earning his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies. Coach Mast began his coaching career both at the U of I and at the University of Kansas as a graduate assistant for Bill Self. Mast served two years as an assistant at UA Fort Smith before returning home to coach for the Cobras. Coach Mast has coached all levels of talent and will instruct campers in the basic fundamentals that he teaches at Parkland.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Location
Camp will be held at the Parkland College Gymnasium located on the north side of Parkland College near the outdoor track. Parking will be in lot M-6.
Insurance and Physicals
School physicals for 2011–2012 or a parent signature on the registration form will be acceptable.
Future Camps
Please check the website or call our office for future camp sessions. There will be several individual and team camps in the summer of 2012.
Media
At times, Athletics or Marketing may use photographs for future promotions. By signing the registration, you are granting permission to use images of your child(ren) for future publicity purposes.
CAMP FEATURES
Introduction
The basic fundamentals will be taught during the 2-day camp:
Ballhandling
Defense
Dribbling
Footwork
Passing
Shooting Form
Individual and Team Play
Contests
Campers will participate in daily competitions and individual skills tests including hot shot, free throw, and layup contests. Campers will also play daily team games.
Awards
Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt just for attending and will have the opportunity to earn certificates for competition.
What to Bring
Campers need to be dressed for the weather, but also dressed to compete. Athletic shorts (or pants if desired), tennis or basketball shoes, socks, and towel if needed.
