1. Math
  • You may retest once after a 48 hour waiting period.
  • If you have enrolled in, withdrawn from, or completed a course in a math sequence in the previous two years, you must receive permission from the chair of the Mathematics department to retest.
  • Only the chair of the Mathematics department can make exceptions to these policies.

2.  Reading
  • You may retest once.
  • Retests may be taken 48 hours after the initial test.
  • Only the director of Reading or the chair of the Humanities department can make exceptions to retest procedures.

 

3.  Writing Skills
  • You may retest once.
  • Retests may be taken 48 hours after the initial test.
  • If your writing skills test score is below 50, you'll be doing the multiple-choice, computer-based exam again. If your writing skills test score is 50 or higher, you'll be writing an essay using paper-and-pencil (45-minute time limit)
  • Only the coordinator of Writing Assessment or the chair of the Humanities department can make exceptions to these procedures.

 

4.  ESL
  • You may retest once if you are a new student.
  • Retests may be taken 48 hours after the initial test.
  • Retesting is not permitted for end-of-semester assessment.
