Academic Assessment

Parkland is committed to giving you the greatest chance at success in your college-level transfer and career courses. Academic assessment helps us determine your skill levels in reading, writing, and mathematics.

All degree-seeking or course enrollee students must be assessed before registering for classes, a requirement of our Comprehensive Assessment Program (CAP). Our academic advisors and counselors will use your placement test results to match you with courses that are appropriate for your skill levels. Placements made through the assessment process are mandatory. We strongly recommend that you study before you come to test.
