volunteer opportunities

  • -The Generations of Hope community program of Rantoul is in need of extra help for an afterschool program four days a week, from 3:30-6:00pm.  Volunteers would help elementary children with their homework.  Please contact Carolyn Castell at contact@generationsofhope.org
  • -The Stevick Center provides recreational, educational and informational programs, activities and services for senior adults to enhance, promote and encourage their participation and leadership so they may lead happy, useful lives beneficial to themselves and their community.  They are currently looking for volunteers to help with a variety of programs they offer.   • -Project Read, located right here on the campus of Parkland College, is looking for volunteer literacy tutors. Working one-on-one with adult students, along with assisting teachers in a variety of classes, volunteers help provide basic literacy, math, and ESL instruction to the members of Parkland's district.   • -The Rantoul Police Department is in need of volunteers to meet a variety of needs.  A few of their specific needs: Data Entry/General Office Duties; Animal Control; Law Enforcement-type Opportunities (fingerprinting, checking empty homes, etc).
